Description: MAF is a non-profit organization that promotes the art of filmmaking to Mid America. Their old website stopped working, so I was tasked with developing a new one with modernized features and a slick design.

During my intership at FacS Studios, which has connections to many film organizations and festivals around the globe, I was tasked with making a brand new website for Mid America Filmmakers - a non-profit with the purpose of expanding awareness to the social and cultural impact of independent filmmaking, specially in Indiana and bordering states, by providing educational, creative and financial assistance to aspiring filmmakers. I personally agreed with the sentiment that noncomercial film is a very important art form that should be promoted, so this was a very exciting project!
Their previous website was a very old WordPress page (from 2003!) with a bunch of pages and text that would be deemed as unecessary in this day and age. So, as a start, I gathered all that information in a "site map" and then drafted how my site would navigate. The homepage would be divited into 2 categories: "about" pages (casting calls, screenings and a link to their film festival website) and "community" pages (membership information, meetings and resources). There would also be the mandatory gallery and a divider with the 3 latest blog posts, which WordPress makes very easy.
Also using another WordPress feature - their Contact Form 7 plugin -, I was able to program different forms for not only contact but the casting call system aswell. Aside from that, I upgraded the membership system visually, listing the tiers and benefits in a much more appealing way. Everything in the website is animated and the navigation is intuitive, creating a much more seamless and inviting experience compared to the old page.
